OVERVIEW:
Sycamore
The Sycamore Learning Center For Nurses is a review center that helps candidates who are preparing to take the NCLEX-RN® and NCLEX-LPN/LVN® exams. This is offered to any graduate nurse from the United States or to any registered nurse who had successfully passed the Board Examination for Nurses in their respective countries, and desire to practice their profession in the United States. It is a 32-hour, four-day comprehensive live review with the instructor.
This in-depth review program, was developed by Ms. Esther P. Gomez, R.N., B.S.N, M.S.N., CPC. Ms. Gomez has more than 30 years of hospital experience as a clinical nurse; trained and taught thousands of nurses, young and old, as preceptor and educator in a diverse population. She is considered an expert in nursing education and a leader in quality NCLEX review and preparation. A very focused educator, whose mission is to produce top quality nurses, she is a very much sought after instructor by students where ever she teaches.
While the program is regularly updated to reflect changes in nursing test plan structure every 3 years, the core of the program still exist and help define the style in which Ms. Gomez presents the material. The 32-hour course is designed to give students a fresh perspective on the topics learned during their nursing programs, with methods that make learning easy and enjoyable. This course can also help students who have been out of school for an extended period of time and have neither taken the exam, or have taken it without success one or more times.
Each participant will be given review materials during the review which will include a three-ring binder, handouts and practice exams. For Philippine reviewees, a copyrighted US review book and a CD for CAT practice test will be given to each participant at the end of the five-day class. All these are included in the fee that is non-refundable and non-transferable. Review books are shipped from the United States, therefore, all payments and fees due, must be received 2 weeks prior to the first day of class to ensure that the review materials are reserved for the participants.
This review course focuses on the specific components of the NCLEX-RN® test plan, and is conducted in a classroom style environment. During the lectures and powerpoint presentations, students are encouraged to take notes, ask questions and participate in the review program. A multiple-choice exam will be given to evaluate the student’s comprehension and knowledge of the material covered in class that day. Candidates that wish to take our review must realize that our course requires a great deal of commitment. For the review to be effective, worthwhile and successful, the candidate must be pro-active in their own learning by reading assigned topics before coming to class and attending all sessions. Remember this is your career and your future!
